![]() So since I did just the fronts today, I'll give you my process. More brake cleaner (never hurts to have extra depending on how dirty your brakes are as long as you finish up with the supplied G2 cleaner last).Small painters touch up brushes for detail work.New brush- the one in the kit loses its hairs in the paint and that will frustrate you.Not to say you couldn't get runs while sitting on a desk so Ive got a trick for that. The only draw backs I can find is the completeness will be hard to beat when removed and the surface can potentially cause runs with it being held sideways on the car. I also went to Home Depot to get some additional supplies I would recommend if you plan on doing this while still installed. ![]() Nicely packaged in a cardboard box and the kits themselves were boxed inside with styrofoam peanuts. ![]() The kit arrived quickly and to my surprise (based off what the YouTube vids were saying) came with a full can of brake cleaner. I decided to use an off the shelf color for mine since they had enough and it seemed to close to what I was looking for. You can also ask/ request a specific color to be made and they will match a factory paint/ color you request but it will take a little longer. So you pick out your color- there are 1000's. One suggestion is to take a little from the kit when your doing the rear brakes and pour it into a baby food jar (before adding hardener) to be used for touch ups later. Things to keep in mind- the kits paint shelf life is supposedly 6 months although Ive heard others claim it to be a 18 months. Otherwise if your like me, the project will require two kits so you can do the front one day and the backs another/ later. This works out well since you should get two kits unless you can remove all 4 wheels and remove the calipers to work in close proximity of each other (more on that later). Another deal is when your checking out they like to push "add on sales" by offering a second kit at a reduced price (sometimes other stuff too). I found almost every time I received a 10-20% discount by just doing that. The website is fairly easy to navigate and many times they offer you discounts after you have left your cart full and filled out the information and then closed out the page. Realizing Im no where near the 1st to paint their calipers or better yet, to do so in neon green, I figured I would try a different route than some and used G2 Caliper Paint system. So recently I decided to make this GM Premium a little different and to do so would require some unique brake calipers.
